For Two Special People Who Reached Out of the Void to Find Me

Brightly shining through the darkness of our odd past, you found me once again when I really needed 

Compassion when cut off from more recent faces that I hope one day you’ll get to see, provided this

Dreadful plague can be put to be rest and our fragile world can begin to heal itself, until the next great

Epidemic sweeps over the land, but thankfully I’ve learned after all these years, you’ve remained safe.

Finding old friends brings such great joy as we never know who remembers us after so long as we’ve

Grown apart through the different paths life taken with once close souls separated by more than the

Hundreds of acres between whatever wondrous state we now call our home and beloved sanctuary.

Imagine a time when we can all meet and keep that idea alive as we all need something amazing as we

Jump over the next hurdle life throws at us in order to prevent us from getting ahead to produce our

Kingdom or slice of paradise in a world that is crumbling with every unfriendly act with no chance to

Learn ways to preserve what remains for those precious reunions we all crave for and wonder when a

Moment like that will present itself before us when all other things in our tomorrow seem impossible.

Never forget the times we laughed together or found each other in passing to have a moment of peace

Only to be swept away in the chaos that were our younger years that were made up of cheerful chaos

Pretending to some essential part of our lives that simple faded away once we found each other again.

Quiet years have slipped by with no word on where our friends have ended up, but one day you boldly

Reached out and my world changed as I felt forgotten by so many people I never felt I belonged to,

Sadly pushed to the back of the crowd unless some odd twist of fate threw me a bone, but you happily

Took up the noble mantle to share your time with someone lost in their own world, now brighter and

United once more with the bonds of a friendship that started over a decade ago in a strange new era,

Vexed by sickness and hesitation that anything will ever be the same again with a miracle standing tall.

Whatever happens as this year ends and the next one begins, I’m thankful that you’ve returned in this

Exceedingly difficult time to provide a little distraction from the isolation and there are those from a

Yesterday long passed that still want to provide happiness in the present that shines on until tomorrow,

Zipping up the barrier between joy and despair so that we can hold onto our wildest dreams and please

Always remember that I’m here for you and no matter what happens, be the wonder the world needs.

Found before they are forgotten like so many nameless faces of the past, easily consumed by the

Great plague on humanity to focus on the present with only glimpses of the past for some relief.

Holding onto memories is a double-edged sword as we can’t keep everything in the light, so we

Imagine the days of old until we are confronted by the good, bad and the ugly that has emerged

Just as it happened, catching us off guard with the sudden return of various powerful emotions 

Kept locked away in our minds waiting for their time to see light once more before fading away.

Life is an incredibly strange concept as everything we learn shapes us into who we are today with

Many more days ahead full of information to pass through our heads, but how much do we really

Need to get by in a world that changes so slowly to protect the fragile lifeforms claiming authority

Only for the next unexpected event to cripple them for not seeing the darkness soon enough to

Protect and preserve whatever came before, yet so much has already been forgotten that we attempt

Quickly reassembling the scattered pieces to the best of our abilities and hope things hold together.

Reach back into the farthest corners of your mind and see what lies there and see if it provides any

Support in these dark time, armed with more painful and happier memories to recall some of the old

Triumphs and tragedies for proof that anything can happen to us and that we need the good and bad

United as best they can to keep a clear head long enough for life to go on with our memories towards

Victory against any odds because we remembered the times that brought us tears when needed most.

Wherever life takes us, I won’t forget you as out those in our shared past, you made easiest to smile

Except for when you had to leave for a long time and others barely helped to defeat the insanity that

Yelling into nothingness took the edge off, only for it to return the next day as someone back at the

Zoo made of humans never bestowed any compassion so that those below didn’t have to suffer every

Absurd request that not even the higher ups had any control over save for a ludicrous change in staff.

Believing in friends isn’t hard to do, but fate smiles on others more, so please don’t forget me as we
